They Didn't Just Win The Global Vaccine Lottery By Getting Their Jabs. They Also Got Prizes

The second weekly cash prize in Quebec’s vaccine lottery has been won by a woman from the Laval region.
Jocelyne Thibodeau won the $150,000 prize in the Aug. 13 drawing. Nathan Francoeur Rivest and Marilou Leroux each won a $10,000 scholarship.
The vaccine lottery was announced in mid-July in an attempt to win over vaccine holdouts.
“I think every penny is worth it at this stage of the game,” Quebec Health Minister Christian Dubé said of the scheme, which will ultimately distribute $2 million in prizes.
Until Aug. 27, one prize of $150,000 and two scholarships of $10,000 for people between the ages of 12 and 17 will be drawn each week. A prize of $1 million will be drawn and 16 $20,000 scholarships for youth will be drawn on Sept. 3. Other prizes are also being offered by Bombardier and Air Canada.
To be eligible for the weekly prizes, Quebecers must have received their first dose. Quebecers who are fully vaccinated by Aug. 31 will be eligible for the $1-million grand prize.
Eligible Quebecers who wish to take part in the lottery must sign up on the province’s website.
