About 250 Azerbaijani servicemen enter Armenia's Sotk gold mine, demand that Armenians leave

An extraordinary incident took place at Armenia’s Sotk gold mine this morning.

According to Armenian News-NEWS.am, nearly 250 Azerbaijani servicemen, including high-ranking servicemen in Israeli armored vehicles came, entered the territory of the mine where there were seven fixed-term Armenian servicemen, said the territory was theirs and told them to leave.

The Armenian servicemen called different representatives on the phone, but there was no response. The administration of the mine was compelled to go and negotiate with the Azerbaijanis. It didn’t know what to say and tried to contact the relevant authorities, but there was no response.

The administration asked and convinced the Azerbaijanis to wait and see what happens, and the Azerbaijanis said the administration and servicemen must not be at the mine when they come tomorrow.
